University of California, Berkeley
About UsLa Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. was founded here at the University of California, Berkeley on April 20th, 2011. Our chapter was begun by eight young men that were seeking to build a unique space for themselves, the community, it's leaders, and others that they could call their own. They accomplished the goal of bridging the University, the first-generation student, and communities of color in the founding of a chapter of LUL.
We came together to give birth to a chapter that would not only seek to address the needs of first generation students of color, but those that who undergo struggles of oppression. The Berkeley Colony chapter has promoted academic excellence, cultural awareness, community service, and proactive leadership while establishing itself as a part of both the University and Berkeley community. The Hermanos of our chapter have progressed significantly both during and since their undergraduate years at the University. We have achieved academically, have lead multiple organizations, have been recognized by the University and Berkeley communities for countless hours of community service, and have consistently maintained a focus on the uplift and support of disenfranchised communities. As we progress towards growth, the Berkeley Colony has retained an emphasis on academic achievement, community service, cultural awareness, and leadership building both within and outside of our organization. Our legacy, as a part of the national movement of La Unidad Latina, continues to this day. We, the hermanos of La Fraternidad at the Berkeley Colony, are eager to continue La Unidad Latina's success as the strongest and most active national fraternity. We hope that your visit here is informative and helpful. With Great, Love, and Energy, Los Hermanos de la Universidad de Berkeley Colony La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity Inc. |
